Jan Campbell Young is an enthusiastic and creative executive coach and development specialist with 20 years experience working with senior managers and Boards. Her areas of expertise include:

 

● Behavioural change - working with leaders to improve their interpersonal skills and help them understand the impact of their style

● Work life balance - using probing questions and challenge to improve people’s work life balance and reduce stress levels.

● Performance improvement -working with leaders to prioritise their workload and focus on tangible outcomes rather than attending endless meetings.

● Career coaching - solving career dilemmas and providing guidance on CV writing and a preparing people for interviews.

Recent Clients

 

The majority of Jan’s experience is in the public sector including coaching CEOs, directors and clinical leaders in the NHS; coaching skills training for strategic leaders in the MOD; coaching ambassadors and senior officials in The Foreign Office and working with senior professionals in universities.

 

Some of Jan’s recent clients include a Chief Executive of a hospital in ‘turnaround’ who wanted help with a strategy and approach to a poorly performing executive team. She worked with a Deputy Head in the Civil Service who wanted to increase her confidence and presence in meetings with domineering male colleagues. High flying leaders in The Foreign Office, including ambassadors, who wanted to improve their personal effectiveness and gain promotion also benefitted from Jan’s coaching expertise. She coached a Director of Professional Services in local government who was recently promoted and wanted strategies to manage the political dimension.

 

Professional Background and Qualifications

 

Jan developed and ran a very successful training programme for business coaches with over 400 people graduating from the scheme. Her various careers cover hospital pharmacy, Deputy Chief Executive at a large London Teaching Hospital, organisational development consultancy and executive coaching. She was the Internal Verifier for postgraduate qualifications in coaching and mentoring accredited by The Institute of Leadership and Management for 5 years. Jan is a trained supervisor of coaches and holds the following qualifications:

 

● Diploma in Coaching, accredited with the Oxford and Cambridge Board

● NLP Practitioner and qualified to administer various psychometric instruments
